Since I wanted the player to always "search" for the portals, I have made it so that they would spawn at random positions around the map. But there would be no point in progress if the game wasn`t getting more difficult over time. Therefore I made it so that the difficulty increases every time a portal is destroyed. The portals become more durable, and their spawn rate increases, creating larger hordes of enemies faster.
So if the game keeps getting more and more difficult forever, what is the end goal?
I have created a highscore system that saves the highest level reached by the player. Every session becomes a new attempt at beating your own best score.

The two worlds are divided by space and time. Your job is to keep it that way.
